The mission of the Centre for Transitional Justice and Post-Conflict Reconstruction is to be a world-wide centre of excellence in leading scholarship on Transitional Justice and Post-Conflict Reconstruction through collaborative, interdisciplinary and international research and teaching amongst faculty, undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and postdoctoral fellows.
 
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to all the various activities of the unit, including the undergraduate and graduate programs, financials, the speakers' series and academic conferences, and the journals.  The incumbent in this position is often the point of contact between the diverse communities who make up the unit: faculty, students, visiting faculty and other guests.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   2 year community College Diploma in Business Administration

Experience:
-   2 years' experience in an administrative position within a customer service environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-   Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office Suite of products
-   Knowledge and proficiency in a database software like PeopleSoft (Financials, Student Centre, GradNet)
-   Knowledge and proficiency with website editing software like Microsoft Expressions/Dream Weaver/Cascade
-   Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines
-   Ability to multi-task and be flexible
-   Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
-   Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact well with faculty, students, staff and individuals outside the Centre
-   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-   Ability to resolve conflict effectively and independently
-   Ability to be tactful and diplomatic when dealing with sensitive issues
