Job Description



This role supports all functional areas of HR for the business unit including assisting in the planning, development, implementing and execution of HR systems ensuring consistency between department and corporate practices.
 
Primary Responsibilities
  • Direct responsibilities for the Human Resource & Safety departments
  • Monitor the work environment and help to maintain and develop the culture among the new recruits as the workforce grows
  • Responsibility for the Health and Safety program - identifying training needs, documenting procedures, develop policies, ensuing compliance for the "due diligence" purposes and minimizing KML risk exposure as per applicable legislation
  • Manage the staffing an recruiting  process
  • Coaching and counseling for management team
  • Promote positive employee relations and monitor the work environment to maintain and develop the culture among the new recruits
  • Councils management and employees on HR issues & assists with solutions
  • Provides project management support for strategic initiatives
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and review of HR and Safely strategies
  • Communicates with corporate office regarding policies and overall direction
  • Update management with respect to of changes to legislation, including ESA, OH&S Act, WSIB, etc
  • Assist with training and development initiates
  • Policies and procedure development and enhancement
  • Develop and coordinate Safety programs to achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable laws
  • Report HR and Safety performances metrics to Management team ns corporate
  • Assist with Health and safely program - designed back up for health and Safety Specialist
  • Update HRIS System including report writing
  • Planning and organizing company events
  • Company communications including memos, announcements, postings and ad hoc communication
  • Oversee the total compensation plan including;classification and evaluation of positions, competitive pay systems, effective performance evaluation processes and organizational development to support growth plans
  • Administration of the company benefit plan with support of external consultant and corporate Human Resources

Qualifications and Skill Requirements
  • Must have 5+ years HR Generalist experience with strong knowledge & capabilities with experience of the following recruitment and selection; benefit administration; employee relations & performance management; compensation; health and safety; training and development
  • Undergraduate degree with CHRP designation
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive and professional  manner with a commitment to prove exceptional customer service and work to exceed expectations
  • Strong organizational and time management with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong analytical, administrative and problem solving skills
  • Ability to move into a more senior and strategic role as the job expands
  • Able to research information and analyze data, arrive at valid conclusion, make recommendations and plans of action
  • Solid computer knowledge;familiarity with HRIS systems an asset
  • Flexibility and willingness to adjust quickly to changes in a fast paced environment
  • Skillful at employee relations with both management and employees
  • Training and facilitation skills an asset
  • High level writing skills (reports, letters, proposals)
