DISABILITY MANAGEMENT OFFICER
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, you are highly organized to provide case management services for employees with non-occupational illnesses, support the receipt of superior healthcare and sick benefits in our early intervention program, and provide assistance to achieve the highest level of good health to remain at work or return to work. Your commitment to best practices for disability management and collaborative ability to assess and interpret medical information are coupled with expertise to develop realistic short and long-term goals. You will travel frequently within a defined geographical area.
-Comprehensive case management for ill or injured employees
-Provide education about managing employee disabilities, provide health counselling and review employment medicals
-Provide support and guidance to staff and Administrators involved in the Attendance Support Program
-Prepare and review correspondence
-Develop and evaluate rehabilitation programs for employees absent with illness or injury
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of a three (3) year post-secondary program in health care, disability management or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants who have current registration as an RN with the CNO and certification in occupational health nursing (C.O.H.N (C)). A minimum of three (3) years related experience in case management (including complex mental health cases), and demonstrated problem solving, interpersonal, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Your expertise in disease identification, treatment, and management is supported by knowledge of legislation affecting disability case management, community healthcare resources, and ideally, experience in a unionized education or public sector environment.
SALARY RANGE: $58,048.00 - $76,767.00
HIRING RANGE: $58,048.00 - $74,092.00
