Job Description

The London District Catholic School Board is currently accepting applications for:

Licensed Carpenter/Locksmith - Certified Tradesman or 1st term Apprentice Carpenter
Out of Breck Avenue
Permanent Full-time 1.0 FTE- Twelve-month (12) position
 
Under the direction of the Supervisor(s) of Maintenance, perform work in accordance with the appropriate designation as recognized by the Ministry of Skills and Development. This involves the maintenance, repair, installation, and construction of structures, fixtures, and equipment throughout the school board sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of Carpenter experience
  • 403A carpenter certification
  • Locksmith certification preferred or willing to train
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code requirements
  • Strong skills in commercial hardware installation and repairs
  • Design, construct, repair, modify, install, service, maintain, dismantle structures, furnishings, millwork, and equipment
  • Perform other duties as related to concrete laying, drywalling and floor covering, locksmithing, glass replacement and millwork    
  • Perform other assigned duties that are within the area of knowledge and skill as required
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral, and organization skills
  • Computer experience required
  • Self-Starter, able to function without supervision and knowledgeable and respectful of health and safety standards
