As Director of Operations, you play an integral role within the Faculty of Law, providing oversight and consultation to ensure staff and faculty receive the necessary guidance on administrative, financial, human resources and facilities policies, practices and procedures.

As Director of Operations, you play an integral role within the Faculty of Law, providing oversight and consultation to ensure staff and faculty receive the necessary guidance on administrative, financial, human resources and facilities policies, practices and procedures.
As Director of Operations, a typical day might include the following:
- Leading, planning, supervising and managing all activities as they relate to finance, human resources and facilities within the Faculty
- Overseeing the financial operating budget, budget modeling and risk analysis
- Solving complex issues, as well as negotiating and influencing decision-making to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Development of the human resources plan for all staff and faculty including consultation with Human Resources and /or Faculty Relations on labour relations and collective agreement issues
- Planning and implementing expanded experiential learning opportunities in collaboration with the Associate and Assistant Deans
- Developing new processes and ensuring consistency across the Faculty
- Providing strategic oversight of the Faculty’s information technology needs, space planning and facility renewal plan

- An Honours undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or Administration
- Preferred: Master’s Degree, enrolled or completed CHRL or Accounting Designation
- 7 Years management experience (HR, financial, administrative, or operational), including managing budgets and financial forecasting
- 5 years of supervisory experience leading teams
- Experience in employee relations with direct accountability for recruitment, training and development and performance management
- Preferred: Experience in a unionized or public sector environment
- Preferred: Experience in an academic environment.
