Job Description:
BGL Group Inc. is currently searching for a junior level developer to work with a Chatham client for a one year contract. As a member of the team, you will be exposed to and involved in virtually all facets of the SDLC.  The successful candidate is expected to possess a broad complement of technical skills that will allow him/her to implement functionality across all layers of applications, from user interface to data access, using best practices for a highly scalable, distributed, multi-tier architecture.
 
Role and Responsibility:

• The support, maintenance and enhancement of in-house applications that manage wholesale customer services
• Performing development activities of break fix, monitoring, and emergency response in a team environment
• Providing high quality deliverables in adherence to our defined development and release methodology and standards
• Supporting critical applications after hours on a weekly rotating schedule
• Learning the business behind the applications

 
Knowledge and Experience:

• Strong programming skills
• Strong teamwork skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent communicating skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to influence people
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly

 Nice to have:

• Recent experience as a developer participating in all aspects of application development life cycle and project methodology
• Solid understanding and experience with Oracle, PLSQL and PowerBuilder

Education:

• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or related IT discipline is preferred
