Job Description
Autotube Limited, a progressive auto parts manufacturer, with facilities in Strathroy and Watford Ontario has an opening for a PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR in our Strathroy Facility.
The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for approximately 30 operators on 2 shifts. Candidates must possess the following characteristics:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach team members and provide feedback to achieve desired results
- Sets a good example to all associates and provides effective leadership, coaching and training to everyone under his or her direction.
- Ensures that a high level of morale is maintained and operators are motivated to achieve company goals and objectives
- Takes initiative in providing suggestions to improve efficiency and output as well as ensure 5S practices are met with a stong and demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing and 5S techniques
- Strong and proven problem solving skills to determine root cause and execute corrective actions of quality issues.
- Uses their exceptional planning and delegation skills to achieve desired results.
- Supportive and capable of leading change efforts and implementing continuous improvements
- Ability to co-ordinatte and facilitate Kaizen and continuous improvement projects with a cross functional team
- Previous moulding and plastics experience would be considered an asset
- Meet daily with operators to communicate daily production requirements and ensure long-term safety, quality, efficiency, uptime, cost and quality objectives
- Performs audits
- Schedules resources including manpower, machinery and materials to meet or exceed company expectations
- Resolves technical problems that arise and uses lean manufacturing and SMED techniques to coordinate product changeovers efficiently
- Good computer skills and experience with MRP and automated time and attendance systems is an asset
