OBJECTIVE / ORGANIZATION:

The objective of the Maintenance Manager is to oversee all maintenance activities across the site-manufacturing units. The Maintenance Manager monitors work as it progresses, and coordinates activities between the trades and other departments including purchasing, engineering, and production. This role ensures that the department is carrying out work in a safe, cost effective manner and provides a level of reliability to the production units so that product volumes are met.

The Maintenance Manager reports to the General Manager. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager are Rotating Machines Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Planning Supervisor, Mechanical Supervisor, Instrument/Electrical Supervisor and Contract & Construction Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Oversees the Maintenance Department activities to ensure that the production units are supported in a safe, reliable manner.
•Prepares and ensures that the annual Maintenance budgets are applied in a consistent manner and that costs are controlled.
•Ensures that the department maintains a high level of technical expertise and provides training to enhance and meet the needs of present technology.
•Ensures that all environmental & safety systems are tested and documented.
•Participates in capital / turnaround planning and ensures that the department supports Engineering and Operations throughout the process
•Administers Human Resources policies and practices.
•Applies consistent leadership skills.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

The individual will possess an **Engineering degree (MUST HAVE)** with practical experience in maintenance activities in an industrial setting and with a minimum of 10 years in a supervisory / leadership role.

In addition, the incumbent will possess excellent leadership abilities including the following competencies:
