Job Description

Thames Valley Children's Centre is the regional rehabilitation Centre serving children and youth with physical disabilities, communication, and developmental needs in 10 counties of Southwestern Ontario. We are a community-oriented Centre providing assessment, diagnosis, consultation and therapy. We serve more than 7,000 children, ranging from newborn to young adults, every year. Our research, creativity and innovations have made us pioneers in the treatment and management of disabilities and special needs.

Manager, Autism Services

We are recruiting for a full time, regular Manager in Autism Services. The designated office for this position will be Stratford or Sarnia. The catchment area for this position is Huron, Perth, Grey, Bruce and Lambton counties. Extensive travel will be expected within the counties and to the 779 Base Line Road East, London location. This position reports to the Director, Autism Services.

Responsibilities:
•    Ongoing development of clinical, educational and evaluative activities to best meet the needs of the clients, caregivers, TVCC clinicians and community service providers;
•    Develop, coordinate and monitor processes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of services provided within the TVCC regional offices and approved community-based locations;
•    Recruit, orient and develop staff in AIP, SSP and ABA-based services;
•    Supervise staff, including performance development, coaching and facilitating growth;
•    Educate, provide training and monitor safe work practices, and ensure that staff work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OH&SA) and within the policies and procedures established by TVCC
•    Ensure equitable staff workload distribution and support staff in their caseload planning;
•    Monitor and report on benchmark performance indicators for TVCC and Ministry purposes
•    Collaborate and network with community service providers, including Lead Partner Agencies, to enhance internal and external partnerships;
•    Comply with legislation, such as the Employment Standards Act, and OH&SA, TVCC Policies and Procedures and the Collective Agreement
•    Participate as an active member of the Centre Leadership Team;

Qualifications:
•    Minimum 4-year undergraduate degree in health or social sciences or administration
•    Demonstrated experience in a management role, including facilitating, mentoring and coaching others;
•    Knowledge of all services provided by TVCC and a strong commitment to its mission / values;
•    Experience using a strengths-based solution-focused approach within a relationship-centred model;
•    Exceptional interpersonal skills, including an ability to guide, mentor and coach;
•    Experience with program development and project management;
•    Strong organizational skills, including planning, implementation, data collection and analysis;
•    Team player with creative problem solving abilities and an ability to facilitate conflict resolution and negotiate outcomes;
•    A consistent, mature approach with a resilient nature
•    A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
