Job Description
Our client is currently seeking a licensed 309a Electrician with diverse hands on experience in field control systems for their team. This full time, staff position offers an hourly wage ranging from $33.00/hr to $46.00/hr depending on credentials and experience.
Reporting to the Instrument Electrical Supervisor and working with the instrument / electrical team your primary objective will be to support the instrument / electrical team with strong focus on providing Controls Systems support to the site on P.L.C.’s, TDC 2000, TDC 3000 and the Yokogawa Centum VP. You will be required to learn all of the instrumentation and electrical systems and the relevant procedures of the plant site and to progress to Maintenance Technician status in accordance with the Maintenance Proficiency Progression Program following all safe working and environmental practices.
You must have sound relevant field experience, and a valid Electrical License 309A paired with a diploma from a recognized Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology program and/or other Engineering Technologist program from a post-secondary education institute, or equivalent. An in-depth working knowledge of DCS including configurations, mimic creations, system view software along with strong knowledge of system architecture and hardware, and familiarity with design packages is required.
A strong team player you are able to work with minimal supervision, interact well with others, and possess excellent analytical, decision making and troubleshooting skills including the ability to calibrate standard flow, temperature, pressure and level transmitters. You have strong instrumentation skills and you are able to read and understand P&ID’s. You are committed to ensuring accuracy with your work and working in compliance with site safety, health and environmental standards and practices, demonstrating high initiative and self-development. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. You must be able to work overtime and possess a valid driver’s license.
