Our Client in Waterloo is looking for Mechanical Service Technician to join their team. Their customers count on these Service Technicians to improve changeover efficiency and ensure their packaging lines and machines are more productive.

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Service Technician visits customer plants to install, maintain, trouble­shoot and modify products.

**Ability to travel consistently 25 out of 30 days a month.

This is a great job for someone who wants to travel both USA and internationally – i.e. Russia, Saudia Arabia, Europe, Asia, , work lots of overtime, customers are Fortune 500 group They will have customer contact, team work and individual travel. Does not want the typical 9-5 job. ***

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible to meet customer needs during installations - this includes portraying a good image of the
company, solving production problems for customers and training the customer in the use of the supplied product.

• Responsible for reviewing the Scope of Projects to ensure customer needs and expectations are understood, and the proper tools and equipment are obtained before starting any installations.

• Responsible for providing detailed feedback for root cause analysis to design, and sales or manufacturing teams for corrective action. This includes drawings and measurements and any recommendations for improvement.

• Responsible for completing all ISO documentation\paper work within the scope of the job including but not limited to, Customer Supplied Product\Non-Conforming material, Service Report, In field Action reports, expense reports, hazard assessment checklists and Customer Request Forms.

• Responsible for troubleshooting problems and modifying fabricated parts as required at the job site

• Responsible for the Quality Inspection of parts, that were returned and reworked as a result of an installation to ensure the customer receives the correct updates.

• Responsible for working in manufacturing in various sectors such as Assembly, shipping\receiving or the machine shop, as required.

*Must be able to travel with as little as 12 hours’ notice for flights and possibly as little as a couple of hours for local\day service trips. This role requires 90% domestic and international travel.*

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


• Must possess a trade certification or equivalent with 3-­5 years’ experience in a machining environment

• Must be able to manufacture parts on conventional mills or lathes.

Must be able to read standard Vernier calipers and micrometers in both Imperial and Metric systems.

• Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

• Must have valid driver's license.

• Must have strong written and verbal communication.

• Must be able to obtain a valid Canadian passport or visa as required by international immigration legislation.
Must qualify for admission to the USA as defined by US Immigration law.
