The Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) is a central resource committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective technology solutions and services to the campus community in support of the teaching and research missions of the University. ITS works collaboratively with other IT groups within Western's faculties and support units to leverage central supported technology solutions and services where it makes sense.
 
The Project Officer will manage various projects within ITS which directly impact Western's best student experience initiative and the teaching mission of the University as a whole. In addition, this role will work to mature the department's project management tools and processes.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   University Degree
-   Project Manager Professional Certification
-   University Degree in a technical field preferred

Experience:
-   3 years' work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
-   3 years' work experience in a technical environment
-   Strong familiarity with project management software and experience in an educational environment preferred

Skills & Expertise:
-   Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed analytics and reports and lead business discussions
-   Ability and willingness to stay abreast of technological developments and commitment to professional development
-   Critical thinking and discernment to assess and scope areas for improvement and an ability to offer creative solutions
-   Strong customer service skills to handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
-   Intermediate level skills in MS Office software, including managing email
-   Applies attention to detail to routine tasks and takes initiative to ensure that outcomes meet internal and external customer requirements and quality
-   Exceptional organizational skills, including managing multiple competing priorities and an ability to adapt quickly to emerging priorities, leveraging their organized and effective personal work environment
-  Well-developed presentation and public speaking skills in both creating and delivering presentations, including conducting training sessions and instructing others on areas of expertise
-   Strong attention to detail and the initiative to make creative solutions
-   Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
-   Builds both formal and informal professional relationships within, across, and external to organizational boundaries
