Project Manager 

The role of the  Project Manager is to plan, execute and finalize projects according to strict deadlines within budget. This includes managing assigned resources and coordinating the efforts of third-party contractors or consultants and deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will define the project’s charter, plans and status reports and oversee the timely delivery of the project. Please note, this position is located in our Troy, MIchigan office.

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall project development through entire life cycle and minimize risk exposure
  • Develop full-scale project plans and communications documents
  • Seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction
  • Develop best practices and tools for managing project execution
  • Manage all project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Create documents defining project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Manage project dependencies and the critical path and resolve potential conflict
  • Identify issues and risks and devise contingency and mitigation plans
  • Define project success criteria to parties throughout the project life cycle
  • Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities
  • Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Ensure time reporting is completed accurately and as required
  • Ensure project documents are appropriately detailed, labeled and stored
  • Project status reports are prepared as required appropriately detailed and distributed
  • Communicate clear project expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors and influence positive action and accountability
 Education, Experience and Competencies:
  • Post Secondary degree preferred in Business or Computer Science
  • Project Management Professional certification an asset
  • Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting and operations
  • Develop best practices and tools for managing project execution
  • Automotive industry experience a definite asset (OEM and/or service providers)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Understanding of computer systems and integration capabilities
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles
  • Solid understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Exceptionally self-motivated, directed and detail-oriented
  • Superior analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations
  • Proven ability to bring project to successful completion
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
  • Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Access
  • On-call availability and periodic overtime
