Job Description
Strathmere Lodge, a not-for-profit, long-term-care home is owned by the County of Middlesex. Opened in 2006, this facility sits on a five-acre site on the outskirts of Strathroy. The home provides care to 160 residents in accordance with Ontario legislation and standards established and monitored by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
Overview of the Position
Reporting to the Environmental Services Manager, the Tradesperson performs minor and routine repairs to the building and property, and installs equipment as needed. In addition, the Tradesperson will check emergency systems to ensure the safety of residents.

The pay scale for this position is $29.05 - $29.73 per hour and the hours of work are 70 hours bi-weekly and vary between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Qualifications
- Possession of a Certificate of Qualification in an appropriate trade(s) for building maintenance (e.g. electrical, plumbing, stationary engineer, heating ventilation air conditioning)
- Grade 12 education
- Previous experience in maintenance of a health facility, factory or plant
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job as specified in the Physical Demands Analysis
- Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to various levels of the organization
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Class “G” Driver’s Licence with a driver’s abstract that is clean and free of any infractions, and access to a vehicle
- Must provide a Current Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Must provide a two-step TB skin test (dated within 1 year)
