Manager of Capital Projects

Salary Range $122,415 - $133,550 (Under Review)

The Thames Valley District School Board is one of the largest boards of education in Ontario, covering Elgin, Oxford and Middlesex Counties, including the City of London.  With approximately 74,000 elementary and secondary students, supported by more than 7,600 teachers, principals and support staff, the Board is also one of the largest employers in southwestern Ontario.  Thames Valley currently operates 132 elementary and 27 secondary schools, with an operating budget in excess of $900 million.
Thames Valley is looking for an innovative and dynamic individual who wishes to join a progressive leadership team.

Reporting to the Superintendent, Facility Services & Capital Planning, and as a member of the management team, the Manager of Capital Projects provides strategic direction and leadership for the planning, implementation, management and budget of the capital activities related to new construction, renovation and renewal of the Board’s facilities and has a shared accountability with other senior administrators for establishing and achieving the department’s strategic goals.  The Manager is also responsible for planning, management and technical support of energy conservation programs and provides leadership to a diverse team of project coordinators and supervisors.

The ideal candidate will have completed a university or college degree/diploma program and possess certification as a professional engineer, architect or architectural technologist.  Seven (7) years of leadership experience, at a management level, in construction or facilities management is required.
