Job Opportunity - Supplier Quality Engineer:
We currently have an exciting new opportunity to join our Strathroy Manufacturing Team.
The Person:
A key player in our Management Support Team, the successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager. As a strategic quality focused professional, you will drive Meridian's supplier interaction to the next level. With a focused, team oriented and customer service driven approach, you will ensure that our suppliers provide us with the highest quality product, on time ensuring we meet or exceed our own customer's expectation.
The position of Supplier Quality Engineer will play a significant and supporting role to both our manufacturing facilities in Strathroy. You will be a key partner to the Production, Quality, Logistics and Engineering teams in the management of our suppliers You will build strong customer relationships, ensuring that any issues are dealt with in a timely fashion with full accountability.
A true, trusted advisor, this position will also serve as Quality Engineer on a limited number of programs.
Your duties will also involve:
§ Assisting/champion the development and implementation of Quality Systems including Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis, Instructions, FMEA's, DOE and management system documents and procedures both internally and with our Supply Base.
. Manage measurement issues including gauge design and methods, and production GR&R approval analysis both internally and with our Supply Base.
. Pursuing resolution of internal and external quality issues.
. Analyze data and information from various information sources as a resource for problem resolution to provide accurate information based on team decisions.
. PPAP preparation and submission, Product Engineering, Engineering changes, run at rate.
. Conducting Supplier Assessments
. Work with suppliers in a supplier development capacity.
. Providing necessary information to facilitate team decisions.
. Ensuring that Supplier and Customer concerns are properly dealt with (8D's, followed up and effective etc.).
. Negotiate corrective action plans, ensure appropriate action is taken, and document.
. Possibility of International travel.
. Training: Training / reinforcing team members in quality systems and procedures.
. Work with the team to ensure all plant goals are met, promoting customer satisfaction
You will possess a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business with a minimum of 3 years progressive experience in the field of Quality Assurance within the automotive industry. A professional designation such as CQE would be a distinct advantage. Whilst being involved at a strategic level, the requirement is for a visionary with a strong focus on the end result who can effect change in a fast moving and ever changing environment.
There will be some travel involved, including international customer visits. The home base for this position will be at our main manufacturing facility in Strathroy, Ontario. The successful applicant must be able to commute daily.
