Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse Architect

As a result of planned expansion and international growth, we are currently looking for a person to join and grow with our Information Technology team. We require a Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse Architect whose role will be to design and implement data warehouses, data marts and data stores while ensuring high levels of data availability. They will also be responsible for defining data standards and models for warehouse architectures. The role will also encompass the implementation and Integration of business intelligence tools for use with the data warehouse. The role will require working closely with the rest of the IT team in the design of processes used to load and maintain the data warehouse. The role will liaison with the Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst in the design and delivery of Business Intelligence dashboards and reporting.
Qualifications:
· College Diploma or University Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field and/or a minimum of 7 years of experience in roles encompassing all facets of the position.
· Proven experience in Microsoft SSAS, thorough understanding of and experience in designing and building OLAP cubes
· Excellent database design and data modeling skills
· Data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies
· Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications
· Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
· Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
· Keen attention to detail
· Excellent project and time management skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills and effectiveness
· Strong business aptitude and acumen

· Experience with Excel, MS SQL Server, MS Visual Studio, SSIS, Microsoft ProClarity and/or Performance Point Server and Sharepoint
Job Responsibilities:
· Design and implementation of data warehouses, data marts and data stores.
· Coordinate and work with other technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
· Design and manage data warehouse improvement and growth projects.
· Assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for data warehousing and business intelligence tools in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
· Conduct research on business intelligence products, services, standards and set organizational strategy on business intelligence architecture.
· Design and work with IT Infrastructure team to implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets.
· Conduct research and make recommendations on data warehouse products, upgrades, services, protocols, and standards.
· Create models for new data warehouse development and/or changes to existing data stores.
· Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions.
· Assist Business Intelligence Reporting Analyst in the analysis of user requirements and design/build functional specifications for BI front-end applications.
· Monitor capacity and resource expansion to ensure data warehouse scalability.
· Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data warehouses and leverage solutions.
· Diagnose and resolve data warehouse access and performance issues.
· Execute data warehouse configuration and performance tuning.
· Monitor system details within the data warehouse, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
· Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data systems.
· Direct, organize, and lead projects in the implementation and use of new BI software tools and systems.
· Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary.
· Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote business intelligence usage to relevant departments using standardized business intelligence tools.
