                                                  RECORDS CENTRE SERVICES - SUMMER STUDENT POSITION - ARCHIVIST

One (1) student is required to assist with two projects for the TVDSB Records Centre. The primary project will focus primarily on the organization, maintenance, and retention of electronic student records. Duties will include 1) extracting pages from a large PDF file and then creating individual files and 2) renaming files to align with naming conventions. The successful interest will also be tasked with helping prepare items for archival storage and description.  The position will involve sitting for long periods of time while working on a computer, as well as working with archives in a warehouse-type setting. 


An interest in technology, document management systems, and/or archives would be an asset. Candidates must be detail-oriented and be able to follow both verbal and written instructions. This position will require the candidate to be able to work independently with little supervision as most of the position can be done remotely if deemed suitable by Supervisor. This position is open to students returning to post-secondary institutions in the fall. The successful candidate must be able to lift upwards of 40 lbs and be able to work onsite for an undetermined amount of time when handling the archives. 

Candidates must be 16 years of age or older, currently attending school full time and must be returning to school full time in 2024 September. Please note that if you do not have proof of enrollment for 2024 September at this time, TVDSB will be able to extend an offer with a proof of enrollment as a condition of continued employment.

Dates of Employment: 2024 May 13 to 2024 August 23

 Location:                     951 Leathorne Street (Possibly Hybrid Option)

Hours of Work:            35 hour per week
                                      Monday-Friday: 0830 -1600 with a ½ hour unpaid lunch

Rate of Pay:                 $16.55 per hour plus 4 % vacation pay (over 18 years of age)

Expiry Date:                 2023 December 19

3.          POST OFFER PRE-PLACEMENT MEDICAL SCREENING TESTS.
