Job Description

Women’s Rural Resource Centre of Strathroy and Area (WRRC) is a non-profit agency whose mandate is to support women and children whose lives have been affected by woman abuse.  We provide counselling, transition support, advocacy, residential services, public education, advocacy, and second stage housing. 
 
WRRC is seeking a strong woman-centered Manager for a full-time opportunity beginning mid July 2016.
 
Scope
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager acts as a liaison between leadership and staff, ensuring that the agency’s long term strategic goals are realized.  This role also acts for the Executive Director in her absence.
 
Key Responsibilities
Programs and Services 
  • Oversees the Planning, Delivery and Evaluation of all Programs and Services including:  Emergency Crisis Response (Shelter, Help Line, Counselling), Housing and Transition, Children’s Program and Community Development Initiatives
Human Resources
  • Oversees Strategic HR (Culture and Talent Management including Employee Engagement) and Organizational Design (Capability and Capacity)
  • Oversees key HR functional areas (forecasting, HR Plan, Talent Management (Recruitment and Retention), Performance Development (Coaching, Mentoring, Succession Planning), Total Compensation, Equity and Managing Diversity, Occupational Health and Safety, Ending the Employment Relationship) as well as Policies and Procedures
Learning and Development
  • Creates a strategy for Learning (On-Boarding, shorter term skills Training and longer term Career Development)
  • Creates a strategy for Performance Development (Coaching, Mentoring, Performance Review)   
Qualifications:
Education
  1. Undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Social Work, Women’s Studies, Business or Public Administration.  A graduate degree is preferred. 
Professional Development
  1. Completion of a formal management program, preferably oriented to the not for profit sector.  A formal leadership assessment or program is preferred.

  5. Clear and current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
 
Direct Reports: Direct service staff and Admin staff.
 
Physical Requirements:
This position will require day, and occasional evening and weekend working hours. This position will require interaction with staff and clients at WRRC as well as various community-based settings.
 
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
