The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Graduate of a post-secondary Health Administration, Business, Health Information Management, Information Technology program, or equivalent required
Skill, Ability and Experience:
-Intermediate- to advanced-level skills in using data management, analysis, and reporting tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, Access, Excel, NPR Reports, SPSS, SAS, or Cognos) required
- Intermediate level proficiency using the MS Office Suite of products required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
-Knowledge of ICD-10 and CCI, grouping methodologies, and MIS statistics preferred
-One to three years experience with data management, statistical analysis, and/or information systems required
-Three years experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on health information management, decision support, research, planning, or healthcare operations preferred
Principle Duties:
-Accurate and timely extraction, manipulation, interpretation, analysis, and presentation of data from multiple sources (e.g. CIHI, Meditech, MIS/OHRS, Intellihealth, CCO/Access to Care, Picker Canada etc.) through ad hoc and regular reporting
-Assist with benchmarking activities related to clinical and corporate performance data
-Utilize tools, frameworks and methodologies to ensure data quality
-Work with data producers/owners and Information Technology staff to develop methodologies for streamlining and automating the manual collection of statistics and to improve data integrity
-Assist in evaluating decision support trends and emerging technologies and participate in the development, operations, and maintenance of a decision support system
-Educate clinical leaders and medical staff in: clinical data sets, MIS reporting requirements, CIHI methodologies, Meditech and related systems
-Provide expertise and support in meeting data queries and information validation requirements of external stakeholders (e.g. LHIN, OHA, CCO/Access to Care, MOHLTC etc.)
-Other related duties as assigned
