FACILITY SERVICES - SUMMER STUDENT POSITIONS
(2 POSITIONS)
Two (2) students are required to work in Facility Services, Maintenance Department. The successful candidates will report to the Manager, Facility Services Maintenance or delegate. The students will be responsible for a variety of maintenance jobs working alongside skilled tradespeople and at times on their own.  Jobs assigned will vary with respect to general building maintenance and landscaping type projects which involves both assisting a current TVDSB Maintenance employee, or following direction to complete a task on their own. Candidates must be detail-oriented and be able to follow both verbal and written instructions. Comfortable performing hands-on tasks as part of daily responsibilities. This position will require the candidates to be able to work independently with little supervision.

Candidates must be 16 years of age or older, currently attending school full time and must be returning to school full time in September 2026. Submit a copy of your current school timetable with your electronic application (transcripts will not be accepted in lieu of a timetable).

Qualifications: 
Experience performing hands-on, physical tasks. The successful candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access reliable transportation as travel to schools in TVDSB is a requirement for this role. 

Dates of Employment: 2026 May 04 to 2026 August 28

 Location:                     951 Leathorne Street, London.

Hours of Work            Monday-Friday: 06:30am - 3:00pm with a ½ hour unpaid lunch

Rate of Pay:                 $17.87 per hour plus 4 % vacation pay (over 18 years of age)

Expiry Date:                2026 February 05

1          A SOCIAL INSURANCE NUMBER; and
2.         IF 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK FOR WORKING WITH VULNERABLE PERSONS.

3.          POST OFFER PRE-PLACEMENT MEDICAL SCREENING TESTS.
