Pay: $287.00-$32.00/hour

Our client, an established and growing manufacturing company is actively looking for a full-time permanent Welder/Fitter to work in their Strathroy, ON location. The ideal candidate will bring verified MIG welding experience and a readiness to take on responsibilities across multiple areas/duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG welding on mild carbon plate steel and stainless steel.
• Position, align, and clamp metal parts together, sometimes using fixtures, before welding.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints and shop drawings including measurements.
• Perform grinding, fitting, and fabrication of steel components.
• Operate equipment such as welding equipment, plasma cutters, cutting torches, overhead cranes, etc.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

• Be willing to complete an on-site weld test (must have own welding gear including helmet).
• 2+ years' experience in manufacturing or industrial welding environment.
• Proven experience MIG Welding small and large products.
• TIG welding experience is considering an asset to have – or at least willingness to learn!
• Plate steel fabrication, fitment, and welding experience preferred.
• Experience with completing quality testing preferred such as (PT) Penetrant Testing is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop prints, and fabrication drawings.
• Basic understanding of measurements and basic math.
• Strong attention to detail and take pride in own work.
• Team player and willing to train and jump-in anywhere needed.
• Own reliable transportation to get to and from Strathroy.

Shift Schedule:

• Training (Day Shift): Monday–Thursday: 6:00am–3:30pm Friday: 6:00am–10:00am
• Post-Training (Afternoon Shift): Monday–Thursday: 2:00pm–12:30am

Candidates must be flexible to work both day and afternoon shifts as required to meet production needs.

Overtime:

Overtime opportunities available, including weekend shifts. Overtime is paid after 40 hours per week.
