Position Overview

The primary role of the IT Help Desk Administrator is to provide basic help desk support and assistance to employees with computer desktop software, hardware, printer, network, or system problems.
A key component of general support consists of providing end-user help, training, troubleshooting and support for the company’s business application hardware and software.
Another key aspect of this role is the cleaning, installation, and modification of operating systems and software programs, such as virus protection and word processing printers. As a member of the information technology team, provides support to other roles within the department, assists the Director with various tasks, and participates in department key initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide end-user help and training related to business software, hardware, network, and printer services.
  • Develop and maintain of I.T. documentation of infrastructure (hardware, network, software, services) and training materials (procedures and end-user help guides).
  • Configure and install hardware in support of business requirements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams in support of business improvement projects.
  • Deploy, support, maintain workstation hardware, software, and network hardware to ensure compatibility with set standards.
  • Build and support Jet reports.
  • Maintain and support network file and print services.
  • Perform IT asset inventory.
  • Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Monitor computer security status including anti-virus, malware, and phishing.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of infrastructure (hardware, software, and network applications).
  • M365 Administration (Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Exchange, Defender, InTune, etc).
  • Account administration for local AD and EntraID.
Experience                                                                 
  • 1-2 years working experience in the Information Technology industry required.
Education and Skills
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience supporting O365 and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems.
  • Solid understanding of network security and security best practices.
  • Proven knowledge of windows desktop operating systems and MS Office suite of products.
  • Ability to analyze and identify specific problems and troubleshoot desktops, printers, and business software.
  • Knows when to escalate problems to appropriate resources.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot, operate and maintain O365 applications (MS Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
  • Customer service-oriented attitude with solid interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and individually.
