INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES - SUMMER STUDENT POSITIONS

TVDSB Information Technology Services is seeking to hire two students to assist with the deployment of Wireless Access Points. Work consists of the configuration and installation of wireless access points and supporting Ethernet switches in TVDSB schools. Activities associated with this work include climbing step ladders, securing devices to brackets on walls and/or ceilings, testing of WIFI coverage and documenting work completed. Knowledge of WIFI and Ethernet technologies would be desirable but is not a requirement. Travel will be required to all TVDSB locations, so access to a reliable vehicle would be an asset.

Candidates must be 16 years of age or older, currently attending school full time and must be
returning to school full time in 2024 September. Submit a copy of your current school timetable

Qualifications


Knowledge of WIFI and Ethernet technologies would be desirable, but not required. The successful candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access reliable transportation as travel to schools in TVDSB is a requirement for this role.

            Dates of Employment: As soon as possible to 2024 August 31                                               
            Location:                      1250 Dundas Street
            Hours of Work:            Monday-Friday: 0800 -1600 with a ½ hour unpaid lunch
            Rate of Pay:                 $16.55 per hour plus 4 % vacation pay (over 18 years of age)
            Expiry Date:                 2024 May 7
