Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000

The Controller will be responsible for the following:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee and support accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll
- Prepare annual year-end working papers and financial statements and coordinate with external accountants
- Prepare quarterly and semi-annual internal financial statements
- Ensure compliance with all required filings, including T2, T4, WSIB, EHT, HST, and UHT (rental properties)
- Manage rental income schedules
- Ensure all government filings and tax payments are completed accurately and on time
- Review and submit tax filings prepared by external accountants
- Monitor and manage banking activity, ensuring timely payments and compliance
- Utilize accounting software systems to support financial operations
- Troubleshoot accounting software issues and coordinate with external IT support as required
- Support system updates and ensure smooth ongoing operations
Business Support
- Work closely with ownership and internal accounting teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
- Provide guidance and oversight to AP and AR functions across multiple business entities
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in an accounting, management or supervisory role
- CPA designation is considered an asset
- Experience with Sage 50 and/or Sage 100 Contractor is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance, government filings, and financial reporting
- Solid working knowledge of AP, AR, payroll, and rental income schedules
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
- Comfortable working with accounting systems and coordinating with IT support
Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000
